Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council will present P’Chotchka, a fast-paced evening of art, film and performance, 6 p.m. Monday, June 2 at Pinstripes, 3849 Gallagher Dr., Edina.
The event, a benefit for Rimon, will feature eight artists speaking about ideas or images that excite them or have inspired their artistic work. Eighteen images of each artist’s choosing are projected on a screen and the artists speak 18 seconds per image.
The result is a lively smorgasbord of ideas and a sampling of the range of activity taking place in Minnesota’s Jewish arts community.
This year’s cast includes writer Neal Karlen, choreographer Judith Brin Ingber, costumer Sonya Berlovitz, multimedia artist Craig Harris, filmmakers Laura Silver and Norah Shapiro, actress Esther Ouray, and glass artist Claude Riedel.
The artists have each received funding from Rimon through its Project Support or Travel-Study grants, or have been featured in a Rimon Artist Salon.
Tickets are $54 and include food and a beverage. Tickets may be purchased online by May 29 at: www.rimonmn.org or by calling 952-381-3449. Rimon is an initiative of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
