The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) will hold its annual Spring Event 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at Temple Israel, 2324 Emerson Ave. S., Minneapolis. The program, which focuses on the sexual health needs of homeless youth, will feature William (Bill) Smith, the executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors in Washington, DC.
Smith will describe current policies and practices that support or hinder access to sexual health services as well as highlight some of the unique implications for homeless youth. Smith’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with local experts who are working on the frontline of the local community’s response to meeting the sexual health needs of homeless youth.
NCJW members and nonmembers are welcome. The cost is $10, which includes an appetizer buffet and dessert reception.
