By The Rivers, a new multi-faith and interfaith lifecycle and learning center, will hold an open house 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at its facility, 690 Cleveland Ave. S., St. Paul. Visitors are welcome to drop in anytime to learn about the events and classes that will be held at this institution.
By The Rivers is designed for the unaffiliated and affiliated alike. It is a gathering of master teachers and talented clergy who help individuals connect with their religious tradition, learn about other traditions, and participate in community by bringing a greater understanding between faiths.
“By The Rivers is deeply rooted in the Twin Cites, and the rivers that surround us,” founding director Rabbi Alan Shavit-Lonstein said in a press release. “It brings to mind the image of water; as a life-giving force and as a symbol of spiritual wisdom. It also represents the spiritual journey and the inevitable, ever-changing nature of our lives. It shows us surprises around every bend, and challenges our understanding of history and the environment. The dynamic nature of flowing water and the hidden possibilities of the depths to be explored inspires our work with the center.”
By The Rivers will also work with local clergy to connect couples and individuals with officiants for lifecycle events that are warm, inclusive and meaningful.
