Bob Dylan’s music made headlines earlier this month when Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings released The Basement Tapes Complete: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11, a six-disc set chronicling the 1967 recording sessions with his touring ensemble (who would later become The Band). But a smaller, two-disc version was also released: The Basement Tapes Raw: The Bootleg Series Vol. 11, which features highlights from the deluxe edition. Among the offerings on this smaller set are restored, alternate and previously unreleased versions of songs, such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Folsom Prison Blues,” as well as previously released tracks. Extensive liner notes by Dylan writer Sid Griffin are included, which also include original artwork and historical photos. — E.E.B.
