Described by Variety as “an icon of free-speech radio,” Jewish radio personality Bob Fass revolutionized the FM airwaves in the 1960s and ’70s with Radio Unnameable, his free-form program of music and politics. Now a documentary from Kino Lorber, titled Radio Unnameable, celebrates Fass’ nearly 50-year career on New York City’s listener-sponsored WBAI and the rise of free expression on the airwaves. The film draws from Fass’ extensive personal archive of audio recordings and features interviews with Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Abbie Hoffman, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon and more. Among the bonus features are archival film and video clips, and more rare audio recordings. — E.E.B.
