Israeli jazz flutist Mattan Klein will perform 9 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at the Loring Theater, 1407 Nicollet Ave. S., Minneapolis. Klein, who lives in Jerusalem, draws on Brazilian and Latin rhythms, and electrified jazz of the 1970s (4-16-10 AJW).
He will perform at the Loring with a group of local musicians, including Chris Lomheim, Kevin Rowe and Joel Arpin.
In 2008, Klein was the 2008 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest jazz specialist. Loring Theater Artistic Director Steve Barberio directed the 2008 JCC Maccabi ArtsFest, which was chaired by Danna Mirviss, Loring Theater’s community relations coordinator.
