Wednesday was the final night of Hanuka, and the second annual Jewish Heritage Night with the Minnesota Timberwolves. David Kahn, president of basketball operation for the Wolves, greeted members of the local Jewish community who participated in what was billed as an attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records mark for most people spinning dreidels at one time.
That effort fell short (as did the Timberwolves, in a 111-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder). However, the game was entertaining, and everyone had a good time, with arts and crafts activities, kosher food, dreidels and a menora lighting.
The Minnesota Timberwolves, Minneapolis Jewish Federation and United Jewish Fund and Council of St. Paul collaborated on the festive event.
