“Israel and the Middle East: The Challenge of Peace” is a program of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas that goes to churches, synagogues, schools, and community groups to speak about the Arab-Israeli conflict. The JCRC designed this educational presentation around clear, meaningful goals to maximize learning while providing information that is balanced and thought–provoking. Dedicated and trained volunteers share a multimedia presentation that outlines the key facts, history, geography, and culture underlying the current state of affairs between Israelis and Arabs. The “Challenge of Peace” program also offers presentations on basic Judaism and anti-Semitism.

Minnesota Friends of the Israel Women’s Network supports the goals of Forward Global Women (www.forwardglobalwomen.org), which supports Women as Peacemakers in the MENA region (Middle East North Africa); and the Israel Women’s Network (IWN), Israel’s foremost advocacy group for women’s rights. IWN works to improve the status of women in Israel, despite differing political opinions, religious outlooks and ethnic origins.

Eden Kohali is here teaching and organizing Israel-themed programs for the St. Paul community and organizations affiliated with the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul. The shlicha serves the entire community, working with the St. Paul JCC, the Talmud Torah of St. Paul and St. Paul synagogues.
